"Teachable Moments” Week Begins July 21
Event Details
WHAT: Back-to-school shopping can be expensive, with costs reaching up to $586 per student. Goodwill Industries of Central Florida (GICF) aims to help families save money ahead of the state sales tax holiday. From Sunday, July 21, to Sunday, July 28, shoppers and educators can receive a 10% discount on purchases by showing a valid school ID at checkout. This special “Teachable Moments” offer cannot be combined with other discounts, such as “color of the week” or military and senior discounts.
GICF also encourages donations of gently used school clothes and supplies from last year, helping other families and keeping items out of local landfills. Goodwill diverts over 20 million pounds of household goods from landfills annually.
Over 90% of the revenue from Goodwill’s retail stores in Orange, Osceola, Brevard, Volusia, Seminole, and Lake counties supports community initiatives, including employment opportunities for Central Floridians.
WHEN: July 21 – 28
