Spooky season has finally arrived! Whether you prefer tricks over treats, or treats over tricks, the City Beautiful has something for every member of the family. Central Florida has no shortage of haunted houses, eerie mazes, and tons of family-friendly festivals. Here’s your guide to the best Halloween-themed activities in the area this season!
Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort
It’s the most popular Halloween event for a reason. Universal has created 10 haunted houses and five scare zones for those who are looking for a sinister scare. Guests can also explore spooky-themed food and beverages around the park. This one might not be suitable for young children!
When: Select nights until Nov. 3.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom
Looking for some Halloween fun fit for all ages? Disney has got you covered. Enjoy trick-or-treating all around Magic Kingdom, check out some of Disney’s beloved characters in costumes, and watch an incredible laser and fireworks show. This year, Disney has announced that more sinister villains will be making an appearance around the park!
When: Select nights until Oct. 31.
Orlando Halloween Fest at the Waterford Lakes Town Center
This is another great family event fit for all ages. Local vendors and family-owned businesses will be handing out candy for some classic trick-or-treating. Kids can even get their face-painted, pet a reptile, get their own balloon animal, or make crafts. There will also be tons of giveaways for guests to enter! And the best part…this event is completely free!
When: October 19th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Halloween Experience at historic downtown Winter Garden
Another great free event to attend hosted by the City of Winder Garden. This event lasts seven days and features a mesmerizing Halloween light show and a fun hay maze! If you’re looking to have a chill night of watching seasonal light displays and strolling around unique shops and vendors, look no further!
When: October 18 to 31.
Tweens and Teens Halloween Party at Flagler County Public Library
Have a child from the ages of 10-18? This event is perfect for them! Teens and tweens can watch a Halloween movie and make all kinds of fall-themed art. Snacks will be provided and did we mention it is also free?
When: October 28 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Dark Forest and Haunted Halloween Maze at Lake Catherine Farms
Halloween is an exciting time at Lake Catherine Farms! Not only can guests struggle to survive their Haunted Halloween Maze, but they can also dare to enter the Dark Forest Trail of Terror. Whether you choose the path of the forest or the maze, prepare to be scared!
When: Friday and Saturday nights from Sept. 27 to Oct. 26, from 6 to 10 p.m.
A Nightmare on Pine Street at Wayne’s World of Paintball
If you want to have some Halloween fun while supporting local charities, check out Wayne’s World! Guests can enjoy a haunted trail event and guided tour featuring scenes from a graveyard, haunted asylum, witch’s hut and more. Tickets are only $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Proceeds from these tickets go towards local charities!
When: October 11-12, 18-19, 25-26 from 8 to 11 p.m.
Howl-o-ween Pawty
Hosted by the Humane Society of Marion County, which is a no-kill shelter, this event features trunk or treat, games, food, vendors, booth contests and prizes. Tickets for this family-friendly event include a free hotdog, drink and snack voucher. And, of course, all furry friends are allowed free admission!
When: Oct. 23 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Boo! On Broadway at Downtown Kissimmee
Visit Kissimmee main street for another family-friendly Halloween celebration featuring trick-or-treating, family-friendly activities, live entertainment, and delicious treats from local vendors. Enjoy the festive atmosphere as Broadway comes alive with eerie decorations and fun for all ages!
When: October 25 from 6 to 9 p.m.
