OCPS Honored for Excellence

The National School Public Relations Associations (NSPRA) granted an Award of Excellence to Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) for its “Expectation: Graduation” program.
The district received recognition for the creation of its brochure aimed at students who have dropped out of school. The publication outlines services, and is used as a learning tool to leave with students during the district’s annual “Expectation: Graduation” event. In addition to the brochure, cabinet members, high school staff, and Superintendent Barbara Jenkins spend numerous hours to personally reach out and meet with students who may be at risk. Many of these students are unaware of their available options as returning students. The third annual “Expectation: Graduation” event will take place this fall.
In addition to receiving the Award of Excellence, OCPS also received two NSPRA Awards of Merit to OCPS Video Services for their video productions: 5 Tips for a Happy Workplace and Stellar: October 2014, an employee-based recognition program.
