Grassroots Politics in Winter Park

Just as the summer sun is causing the mercury to rise, fall’s hottest political races are also heating up. While national politics are constantly in the headlines, it is the local and statewide races that are sure to have the most impact on our day-to-day lives. From education to public safety and transportation to real estate, it is important that our community speak up on issues that are important to the well-being of the area.

The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce is proud to bring the business community and candidates running for elected office together for an evening of grassroots politics this month. The 2016 Winter Park Political Mingle and Straw Poll, presented by Charter Spectrum, will be held on July 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rachel D. Murrah Civic Center.
The evening will be filled with casual conversations with candidates, mingling with fellow business and community leaders, live entertainment, food and drinks. The highlight of the event is always the straw poll results. Operated by the Orange County Supervisor of Elections office, the informal poll takes the political pulse of attendees on a variety of ballot issues and races that directly affect the Winter Park community.

Tickets and information on participating candidates is available at www.winterpark.org. For additional information on early voting, the August primary or voter information, contact Orange County Supervisor of Elections at www.ocfelections.com.
