East Orlando’s Education Day

As the weather begins to shift into autumn, the East Orlando Chamber of Commerce recognizes our East Orlando public schools. Every October, the chamber invites our local public schools to show their pride and feature their talented students at Education Day.

Bring the family to enjoy a Saturday with inflatables and carnival games, kid-friendly activities and more. Thousands attend each year at Avalon Park’s Town Park to meet local businesses and school representatives while tasting food from local restaurants and listening to choral performances, skits, music acts, and more from these talented students. Kids can even show off their smarts in an essay contest, a math competition and a spelling bee to win prizes. The fun begins at 10:00 a.m., but be sure to get there early to make the most of the day.

When you purchase a wristband for the Kid Zone, the proceeds support the chamber’s scholarship fund. Each year, five seniors – one from each East Orlando public high school (East River, Colonial, Lake Nona, Timber Creek and University) – receive a $500 scholarship from the chamber to further their education.

If you are interested in having a business booth and participate in this community event, contact the chamber office at 407-277-5951 or Events@EOCC.org. Need more information? Visit www.EOCC.org.
