On Thursday, May 19, the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce will graduate 50 professionals from its signature leadership development program. Leadership Winter Park, a community awareness and leadership preparation program that identifies and promotes potential leaders from the business community who want to make a difference in Winter Park, will add to its existing network of 800 alumni.
The Graduation Celebration Luncheon, presented by The Mayflower Retirement Community, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Rachel D. Murrah Civic Center. This event will feature Dr. Joel Hunter, the senior pastor of Northland, A Church Distributed, as the keynote speaker and will celebrate the accomplishments of the graduating class as well as recognize an outstanding community leader. To join the next class of community leaders, apply for Class XXVII by June 24. The program begins September 2016 and runs through May 2017.
For more than a decade, Youth Leaders has been Central Florida’s premier leadership program for students entering their sophomore, junior or senior year in high school. The program, designed to expose students to opportunities for leadership within their community, offers two sessions each summer: one in June and a second in July. Session topics include team building, arts and culture, communication and technology, law and government, and a day for career exploration and mentoring. Interested students should apply by May 11.
