Staycation with Your Community Opportunities

As the arrival of March begins to announce Spring is on the way it also presents the opportunity for Spring Breaks. Though many will want to travel over the break, a staycation may present attractive options within the Central Florida region. Additionally, staying local presents an opportunity to support local businesses and organizations. Saving some of the money needed for travel may also be appealing for many families.

Southeast Orange County boasts plentiful recreational, gastronomic, and restful opportunities that correspond well with the arrival of warmer weather. Readers are invited to visit within the Lake Nona environs for exciting recreational opportunities. While most local communities enjoy community pools and splash parks, readers should also research other family fun spots to visit. Among them include trips to Nona Adventure Park for in the water wakeboarding or obstacle course fun with the added challenge of a climbing tower. The Adventure Park borders on Heroes’ Park, one of the best public soccer centers in the region. For climate-controlled sport, indoor soccer is available through XL Soccer World, one of the largest indoor soccer facilities in the country. Both Nona Adventure Park and XL Soccer also offer food and drink while visiting at the facilities.

If you prefer a round of golf, our Lake Nona region offers opportunities at Eagle Creek Golf Club and a newer golfing addition at Drive Shack. Eagle Creek is a well-maintained public course with a beautiful clubhouse. Drive Shack according to their website is, “Where fun meets a little friendly competition, skill comes secondary to a good time, and golf takes on a new form”. Either of our local golf options bring almost a full day of fun.

If you are more into an artful mood, then you are in luck to live in or visit our Lake Nona community. The Lake Nona website mentions, “…arts truly affect our health and wellbeing in positive ways, so they play a major part in planning the community. When people engage with art, it stimulates learning”. Plan a trip around Lake Nona to visit with the local art including statuary, impressive architectural designs, and fun concepts. Of particular interest is the new Sculpture Garden at Lake Nona’s WAVE Hotel.

Add to that one can travel the world gastronomically by visiting the outstanding variety of eateries in the Lake Nona region. Different continents of food excitement are easily found within a few minutes’ drive.
