Winter Park Chamber Celebrates Successful Year

Portrait of young white woman in a busy modern workplace

It’s been an amazing year for the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce. We’ve found innovative ways to close the Relevancy Gap, which is a very real threat to our counterparts across the country, through digital engagement, tourism outreach, expanded programming and advocacy.

To be more digitally relevant, we want our members and the community to experience us in a virtual space and at in-person events. We’re also reaching our audience with more specialized content and, judging by our growing digital audience, we feel we’re meeting its needs.

On the tourism front, we continued to expand our outreach to international guests and visited the World Travel Market in London. We’ve experienced significant growth in our international web traffic and even greater growth in our United Kingdom traffic, translating to even higher numbers of international foot traffic. Our Tourism Task Force’s work will only enhance our efforts.

Our second class of Relaunch: Career Reentry for Professional Women began in September. The program is designed to help women build their resume, confidence and network through sessions that cover everything from how to get the most out of LinkedIn to building a personal brand. It’s the jewel of our expanded programming, which also includes Young Professionals Winter Park, a program designed to develop the future leaders of our community.

Finally, our advocacy outreach took off in new, exciting ways in 2018. We provided legislative updates and click-to-send email campaigns, streamed live events on Facebook and hosted the only House District 47 candidate debate.

These are just some of our key highlights. We will continue to improve our services and support for our members and the community in 2019.
