Trustco Bank Veteran & Active Duty Run for Freedom 5K

Celebrate and honor our active and retired military veterans this Veteran’s Day weekend by participating in the Trustco Bank Veteran & Active Duty Run for Freedom 5K! This event is not just a run; it’s a heartfelt tribute to those who have served our country.
Participants will enjoy a scenic 5K run or walk, surrounded by the vibrant Casselberry community as we come together to support our military. The festivities don’t end with the race! After the 5K, there will be a range of activities including a kids’ run, face painting, a bounce house, live music, and recruiters from the Army and Navy, ensuring fun for all ages.
The 3rd Annual Trustco Bank Veteran & Active Duty Run for Freedom 5K reinforces commitment to supporting those who have served. This year, proceeds from the event will benefit several deserving charities, including:

12th Annual Veterans Day Walk at Lake Baldwin

Location: Harbor Park at Lake Baldwin, Orlando
Show your support for veterans by joining the 12th Annual Veterans Day Walk around Lake Baldwin. This event aims to raise awareness of PTSD and funds for veterans in need through the McCormick Research Institute. Although donations are appreciated, they are not required to participate. The walk includes two laps around the lake, a group photo, and opportunities to honor veterans while learning about the importance of mental health support.
After the walk, attendees are invited to gather at Tactical Brewing for socializing and camaraderie. Volunteers are also needed, particularly a photographer to capture the day’s events.
Dinner with a Veteran

25th Annual City of Orlando Veterans Day Parade

Location: Downtown Orlando
The highlight of Veterans Day in Central Florida is the 25th Annual City of Orlando Veterans Day Parade. Under the theme “A Legacy of Loyalty and Service,” the parade will feature various floats, marching bands, and veteran organizations honoring those who have served. The parade kicks off from Orange Avenue near Central Boulevard, making its way through downtown Orlando. Mayor Buddy Dyer and the Veterans Advisory Council will lead the festivities, celebrating the contributions of our armed forces.
Families United: A Veterans Day Festival

Wrap up your Veterans Day celebrations at the Families United: A Veterans Day Festival at Charlie’s Bakery & Creamery. This family-friendly event will feature live music, food and drink sampling, a local market fair, kids’ booths, and, of course, Charlie’s famous ice cream! All proceeds from the event will benefit veterans’ brain health initiatives through the Brain Warriors Foundation of America, creating a joyful celebration with a meaningful impact.
