CFHLA Cares

On Wednesday, May 4, the Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association (CFHLA) produced the Education Partnership & Awards Membership Luncheon at the Hilton Orlando. This luncheon featured the recognition of CFHLA Community Partnerships and the awarding of Hospitality Student Scholarships and Grants. Twenty-nine Scholarships, totaling $100,000, were presented to Future Hospitality Leaders of Central Florida.

In addition, Hospitality Education and Community Grants were presented to Mid Florida Tech, Orange County Public Schools, the School District of Osceola County, Valencia College, the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management, the Boy Scouts of America Central Florida Council, Central Florida Community Arts, the Dr. Phillips Little League and the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

This celebration of community also included recognition of the 99 CFHLA Member Partnerships in the 2015-2016 Adopt-A-School program. Additionally, through the efforts of CFHLA Members, 94,000 items, including toiletries and food items, were collected via the CFHLA Cares Collection Drive for homeless students in Central Florida.
