For the Love of Food and Fun, Experience Oktoberfest

In September, Krush Brau Park will celebrate its second annual Oktoberfest at its location in Kissimmee. Experience authentic German food, entertainment, dancing, and the ceremonial tapping of a wooden keg by a traditionally inspired bürgermeister (town master).

What to Expect

From Sept. 16 to Oct. 30, Krush Brau Park’s 600-seat outdoor tented beer garden or biergarten is the place to be if you love beer, bratwurst, watching soccer, and all things German. Have some daytime fun with giant outdoor lawn games the whole family can enjoy. Or be there after 5 p.m. for a rousing good time on the spicier side of things with shots of Goldschläger or Jägermeister.

The Krush Brau Park operations team says this year’s Oktoberfest will include alphorn blowing, stein holding, cowbell ringing, and yodeling competitions, just to name a few. There will also be live music, and it won’t just be German oompah music. There will also be pop, country, Latin and other musical genres to enjoy.

Situated on the former Jungleland Zoo site in Kissimmee, Krush Brau Park is a 9-acre parcel of land that has enough room for this large annual Oktoberfest event and much more.

History of the Park

According to Director of Krush Brau Park Gabriel Greenberg, the park began as the dream of Army veteran Waylon Krush. While stationed in Bad Aibling, Germany, Krush fell in love with Germany’s food and traditions. Once back home in America he longed to share the celebration of Oktoberfest with others. Now, his dream is coming true, and he hopes to expand on that dream.

“The aim is for Krush Brau Park to be a world event center where people can come to learn a little bit about several different countries, including its traditions, food, culture, and people,” Greenberg says.

Positioning Krush Brau Park as the area’s go-to place for local entertainment, private events, corporate team building, and cultural education, Entertainment Director Herb Albinus says Krush Brau will be a great venue for a variety of events. “We’ve even got an on-site catering company, so you can sit back and have our team do all the work,” Albinus says.

Chef Michael Gogolin can create a menu featuring any number of popular cuisines. Albinus says whatever flavor you’re looking for, Krush Brau will work with you to find what best fits your special occasion.

What’s Next?

Next up for Krush Brau Park is the opening of Biergarten Restaurant brewery and eatery. Future plans for the park also include a petting zoo, children’s play area, and a plethora of food and drink offerings in its kitschy and fun shipping container restaurant park.

Greenberg says that Krush Brau Park can be easy to miss from U.S. Route 192/Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway. He offers this tip: “From the parking lot, the beer garden tent is to the left of the nearly completed Biergarten Restaurant and behind the Gator Motel,” he says.
