What is National Cinema Day?
In celebration of National Cinema Day on Aug. 27, movie theaters nationwide sell tickets for just $4. This year marks the second annual National Cinema Day. Created by The Cinema Foundation, a non-profit organization, the program aims to promote and expand the film industry. In addition to discounted tickets, some theaters also offer discounted popcorn, snacks and drinks.
Participating theaters in the Central Florida area include Cinemark (5150 International Drive), Regal Winter Park (510 N. Orlando Ave.), Premiere Cinemas (3201 E. Colonial Drive), Touchstar Cinemas (12441 S. Orange Blossom Trail) and AMC Disney Springs (1500 Buena Vista Drive).
