Orlando International Fashion Week (OIFW) is poised to make a splash this fall as it celebrates its 10th anniversary with an exciting lineup of events from Nov. 10th to 17th. Founded in 2014, OIFW has been dedicated to creating a space for diversity and innovating in the fashion scene, making a name for itself in the Orlando arts and culture community. This year’s event promises to be a remarkable celebration, reflecting the spirit of Orlando while showcasing both local and international talents.
A Week-Long Celebration
The festivities will unfold over a week filled with exclusive events, runway shows, and glamorous parties at some of Orlando’s most prestigious venues. The grand celebration kicks off on Sunday, Nov. 10, with the Opening Event: Art & Fashion at City Arts, sponsored by the Downtown Arts District. This opening night will set the stage for a week dedicated to the intersection of fashion and art, where local designers and artists can collaborate and inspire one another.
Thursday, Nov. 14, a sponsored event with FEN Social will be held at Aloft Orlando Downtown for an evening filled with networking, photos, arts and entertainment, allowing the Orlando fashion community an opportunity to mix and mingle.
Following a special event (details not yet announced) on the 15th, a highlight of the week is the Rooftop Party and Fashion Show at the Grand Bohemian on Saturday, Nov. 16. Attendees can expect an afternoon of high fashion set against a breathtaking rooftop view, accompanied by a sound experience courtesy of Bang & Olufsen. The event will showcase a variety of designs that embody the latest trends and innovations in fashion, leaving guests captivated by the creativity on display.
On Sunday, Nov. 17, the week wraps up with two events: the Kids & Teens Fashion Show, presenting the next generation of fashion stars, and the Fashion Night Out closing shows. These events will highlight the importance of nurturing young talent in the industry while offering a platform for both local and international designers to present their collections.
Model Casting Calls: A Gateway to the Spotlight
OIFW is not just about established names in fashion; it also focuses on discovering new talent. A casting call will be held on Oct. 20, at CityArts Gallery from 11am-3pm. Models will be selected by brands, fashion designers and the OIFW Board of Directors for a chance to walk in the fashion week shows. This is an exciting opportunity for models to showcase their potential and gain recognition within the industry.
A Celebration of Diversity and Global Influence
As a premier fashion event, OIFW brings together designers and models from a myriad of backgrounds. Past shows have welcomed talent from international locations such as the Bahamas, Colombia, and Puerto Rico, as well as major U.S. cities including New York and Los Angeles.
