This signature event by The Rotary Club of Dr. Phillips provides a taste of 20 of the area’s finest restaurants.
Every November, The Rotary Club of Dr. Phillips hosts one of the community’s top foodie events. A Taste of Dr. Phillips is a showcase of 20 of the area’s finest restaurants with a philanthropic tie. This year it will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 10.
Now in its 13th year, A Taste of Dr. Phillips provides an opportunity for individuals in the community to come together, network and savor three hours of gourmet food and beverages at tasting tents set up around the Dellagio fountain. Live entertainment and a silent auction round out the afternoon.
The goal of A Taste of Dr. Phillips is always to raise as much money as possible for the Rotary Club of Dr. Phillips Foundation. Throughout the year, the foundation distributes funds to local beneficiaries such as the YMCA of Dr. Phillips, Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, the theater magnet program at Dr. Phillips High School, the
CFHLA Foundation and more. Last year’s event raised nearly $60,000, and rotary members hope to match that number in 2019.
“One thing that we always say is we do a lot of good for the community, and we raise a lot of money for our community partners, but we always have a lot of fun when we do it,” Event Chair Joe Mahoney says.
Expect delectable bites from returning restaurants like Urbain 40, Dragonfly Robata, Pepperoncino and Eddie V’s as well as new participants such as STK at Disney Springs. There will also be two beverage vendors serving beer and wine.
“It always turns out to be a phenomenal event,” Mahoney says. “We hope that people buy their tickets early and support the great work that the Rotary Club of Dr. Phillips does for the Dr. Phillips community.”
