Nothing says summer quite like a plate of fresh, plump oysters on the half shell and a chilled glass of rosé. Ocean Prime, located on Sand Lake Road, is getting in on all the summertime fun with its Stop and Sip the Rosé promotion through Aug. 31. This happy hour offering is the perfect pairing for oysters and any of the restaurant’s small plate or sushi offerings, really.
When you visit Ocean Prime during happy hour through the week, you are invited to indulge in four specially priced rosés by the glass and by the bottle. Beverage Director Ryan Valentine selected still, sparkling, domestic and French varietals to offer an option for every palate. The selection includes Miner Rosé ($15 per glass), Chandon Rosé ($14 per glass), Veuve Clicquot Rosé ($29 per glass) and Notorious Pink Rosé (11 per glass).
Then, on Fridays, treat yourself to half price glasses of Veuve Clicquot ($14.50) in addition to Ocean Prime’s happy hour offerings.
If you’re going to Ocean Prime to Stop and Sip the Rosé, you should also be sure to take a bite of some of the menu’s best happy hour offerings as well. Some of our favorite dishes to pair with a glass of rosé include:
Oysters on the Half Shell: Plump oysters served with lemon slices, cocktail sauce and horseradish with a haze of dry ice floating over the top.
Prime Roll: A smart play on surf and turf that is stuffed with tempura shrimp, cream cheese and scallion then topped with thinly sliced beef carpaccio.
Prime Sliders: The perfect bite of burger that provides a nice balance between sweet and salty with toppings that include sundried tomato, bacon and bleu cheese.
Fish Tacos: These bite-sized tacos are served with white fish, avocado and picked cabbage in a corn tortilla. The fish selection will change, depending on availability and freshness, but it will typically be either grouper or snapper.
Lamb Lollipops: Tender, teriyaki marinated lamb that falls right off the bone.
