A Smile Is The Ultimate Accesory

Whether you’ve been dreaming of a beautiful new smile or just want to maintain a healthy mouth, Dr. Charmaine I. Ortiz can help you do both. With her years of cosmetic and general dentistry experience, she is here to answer all your dental questions.

Do I have to go to other specialists for various dental treatments or can I get it all done at Classic Dental Maitland?

Dr. Ortiz is a skilled general and cosmetic dentist. Fillings, check ups, cleanings and smile makeovers are just a few of the services available. As a certified Invisalign provider, she can fit you with clear aligners that are virtually undetectable to straighten teeth. She is also trained in hard/soft tissue laser application for dentistry.

My teeth are worn down from grinding my teeth at night. Is it too late to do anything?
Nope, it’s not too late! After a complete work-up, Dr. Ortiz can help diagnose and treat bruxism. She can also restore the damage done by grinding.

I have a “gummy” smile, what can be done to help?
“Gummy” smiles, or smiles that show more gums than teeth can be corrected with laser treatment that is quick, precise and has minimal or no bleeding, swelling or post-operative discomfort. In some cases Botox can help reduce the appearance of a “gummy” smile.

I want to look younger. What can cosmetic dentistry do for me?
Classic Dental Maitland offers many ways to help give you a youthful smile. “Boost” teeth whitening will brighten your smile. Lumineers (overlay porcelain veneers), and other porcelain restorations can give you a permanent solution for chipped, discolored or misaligned teeth. As a certified Botox-Dermal Fillers provider, Dr. Ortiz can eliminate deep lines around the mouth as well as around the forehead and eyes.

My wife says I snore and that a dentist can help me. Is that true?
Yes. Dr. Ortiz is trained in fitting patients for anti-snoring devices. These lower jaw protrusion splints help keep the airway open during sleep to help eliminate or reduce snoring. Since dentists are specially trained in the structure and function of the mouth, medical doctors often recommend patients see their dentist first.

I get headaches/migraines and hear popping in my jaw. How can I find out if I have TMJ disorder?
According to the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, approximately 10 million Americans suffer from temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder. Dr. Ortiz can help determine if you have TMJ disorder and structure a treatment plan to reduce the pain often associated with this problem.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Dr. Ortiz reminds us that brushing after meals, flossing daily, and regular check-ups are your ultimate tools in maintaining a healthy, attractive smile. Your personal dental care starts by, reducing the intake of sugary snacks and drinks and eating balanced meals.
Tooth brushing
Brush your teeth at least twice a day (especially before going to bed at night) with an ADA-approved soft bristle brush and fluoride toothpaste.
Flossing
All the trouble starts between the teeth! Daily flossing is the only way to clean these areas. Think of floss as a toothbrush for between the teeth! Remember: “Only floss the teeth you want to keep!”
Regular Professional Cleaning and Exams
Of course, regular cleanings at least every six months will help eliminate what you miss with brushing and flossing. Regular check-ups are recommended to prevent as well as treat dental and oral health issues, such as cavities and gum disease. A thorough exam should also include an oral cancer screening.
