One-Stop Shop
Maitland Primary Care has been a one-stop medical practice for patients since Dr. Bella Dattani came on board in 2011. While the practice was established in 2000, she took over after completing her residency with Orlando Health and has continued expanding its offerings each year to meet the healthcare needs of the community.
Most recently, Dr. Dattani, the practice’s founder, introduced a new provider so patients could be seen even more quickly. Megan Garofalo-Bates, PA, joined the practice in February.
“Primary care is happy medicine,” she says. “It’s fun to get to know your patients and develop a relationship with them.”
With another provider on hand, Dr. Dattani can better accommodate patient schedules. The practice is now open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and same-day appointments continue to be available upon request.
“Dr. Dattani’s practice is special because she’s so involved,” Garofalo-Bates says. “Here, the patients always come first and we always go the extra mile to ensure they are getting the best care possible.”
Tests When You Need Them
The team at Maitland Primary Care respects their patients’ time more than anything. Lipid panel tests for cholesterol and hemoglobin A1c tests for diabetes can be performed in the office, so there is no waiting around for results to come back from a lab. Instead, patients can schedule an appointment for lab work in the office, get answers from the doctor immediately, and pick up any necessary medications before they leave. This saves patients from having to run all over town to get what they need.
While the practice now has a completely digital office space, complete with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, a TV in every exam room and free Wi-Fi for patient use, there are still some old-school standards that remain important. During business hours, a person will always answer the phone. Instead of listening to a list and pressing a button to connect, a familiar voice will always be on the other end of the line to help.
“Maitland Primary Care is a state-of-the-art medical practice that still keeps the human touch,” Dr. Dattani says. “Our patients deserve having the opportunity to talk to a human when they call our office.”
