Top Central Florida 5Ks to Look Forward to in April

Spring has officially begun, welcoming back warmer temperatures and a nice backdrop to spend time moving outdoors. April’s weekends are packed with 5Ks in all areas of Central Florida. Here is a guide of upcoming races in the area.

April 3-6, 2025

runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend
Date: April 3–6, 2025
Location: Walt Disney World® Resort
Distances: 5K, 10K, 10-Miler, or a Challenge combining all three (19.3 miles total)
Perks: Meet-and-greets with rare Disney characters, inspiring movie clips, and a morning yoga session. Finishers earn themed medals, and those who complete all three races receive a fourth Challenge medal.

April 5, 2025

Bahia Shrine Challenge
Date: April 5
Location: Apopka
Distances: 5K (3.1 miles), 1-mile walk/run, or both for the Challenge
Perks: Entertainment from Bahia Shrine parade units, a fun 0.05K race (164 feet), and an appearance by Sir Gus, Jr. (weather permitting). All 5K participants receive a shirt (guaranteed if registered before March 15, 2024) and a finishers medal. Age group awards available.

10th Annual Grand Living Park at Lake Mary 5K Fun Run/Walk

Distance: 5K
Perks: Non-chip timed event with awards for the top 3 male and female finishers. Free T-shirts and medals for the first 400 registrants. Packet pickup available April 4–5 at Front Running Sports.

Harmony Middle 5K

Wounded Warfighter Lone Sailor 5K/10K

Distances: 5K, 10K

Distance: 5K
Perks: Chip timing, finisher medals, and proceeds supporting Victory Track Club and local youth sports. Packet pickup available race day and at Wizards and Lizards.

Chick-fil-A 5K and Kids Fun Run – Ocoee, FL
A family-friendly race featuring fun activities for kids and a welcoming atmosphere for all participants.

9th Annual Pat & Ed Northey 5K and 10K River Run
Date: April 12
Location: Gemini Springs Park, DeBary, FL
Distances: 5K, 10K
Perks: Scenic course, finishers medals, festive beverages, awards for top finishers, and custom race shirts. Packet pickup April 11 at Advent Health Fish Memorial Hospital.

Great American Bacon Race

Distance: 5K

Paws to Run 5K

SeaWorld’s Seven Seas Food Festival 5K Run
