Success is a journey, not a destination. This is a motto that Dr. Nimesh Dayal has lived by throughout his career. His journey began at University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa where he earned his undergraduate degree. From there, he earned his MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians in England and his Masters in Clinical Investigation from Northwestern University.
Dr. Dayal completed his residency at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center in West Reading, Pennsylvania. It was there that he met his mentor, his Program Director, Dr. David George. “He was the ultimate professional, yet most compassionate of rheumatologist,” explained Dr. Dayal. He brings that same compassion to all of his patients at the Arthritis Center of Orlando.
Specializing in Internal Medicine with a subspecialty in Rheumatology, Dr. Dayal began practicing in Central Florida in 2013. Arthritis Orlando is committed to providing superior, state-of-the art medical treatment in a safe and caring environment. They offer a comprehensive rheumatological evaluation for patients with various forms of arthritis and connective tissue disease.
Rheumatoid arthritis remains one of the most common types of autoimmune arthritis which is triggered by a faulty immune system. Early treatment can control the pain and lessen the joint damage. This prevents long-term disability and allows the patient to maintain an active life. Dr. Dayal performs intravenous infusions of chemotherapeutic drugs to help treat the various types of arthritis and to prevent joint damage and disease progression. These drugs assist in blocking the chemicals that cause the inflammation.
Dr. Dayal also has interest in performing clinical studies of various investigational drugs for treatment of inflammatory arthritis. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national meetings.
Dr. Dayal also performs joint aspiration, joint injections, and ultrasound examinations of the peripheral joints and assists patients in exploring non-surgical treatment options for certain conditions. He is board certified in both internal medicine and rheumatology and is a member of the American College of Rheumatology — an organization that advances rheumatology through education, research, and advocacy.
Office hours range from 8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00am-12:00pm on Friday. Arthritis Orlando accepts all major insurance providers.
