2016 East Orlando Chamber Recap

This has been a banner year for the East Orlando Chamber of Commerce as we celebrate 70 years. Did you know the chamber has hosted a beauty pageant, Easter egg hunts and a Christmas parade on Colonial Drive? We revisited the past and shared information regarding the growth of East Orlando at a recent Vision Event.

In June, the Business Expo was the most successful to date with 75 businesses showcasing their services and products to 400 attendees. Our 32nd Annual Golf Tournament provided an opportunity for our members to network on the green. Many golfers won prizes and enjoyed a beautiful day out of the office.

The Southeast Update sold out again this year. The topic was Sports and Medical Tourism: A Billion-dollar Growth Industry in our backyard. Representatives from the Central Florida Sports Commission, Lake Nona, Nemours, Orlando City Soccer, the USTA and the V.A. were panelists.

Education Day packed Avalon Park with representatives from 30 public schools and close to 1,000 kids performing on stage throughout the day. Nearly 3,000 people visited our business booths and enjoyed food, entertainment, inflatables and more.

In November, the Local Charities Luncheon featured Mark Brewer from the Central Florida Foundation and showcased 10 local charitable organizations to a packed house.
Members received exclusive opportunities including an Orlando Magic game with courtside access, an escape room, a local brewery tour and a visit to the Emergency Operations Center at the TechCF luncheons.

We will continue to improve upon this year’s successes throughout 2017. Contact us to learn how you can join and connect with others to grow your business. Visit www.EOCC.org or call 407-277-5951 for more information.
