The heart of Florida beats with the rhythm of hooves and the spirit of tradition as the 153rd Silver Spurs Rodeo gallops into Kissimmee. This year, the Silver Spurs Riding Club proudly marks eight decades of cowboy grit, family fun, and community dedication with a year-long celebration honoring its deep roots in Osceola County.
Since its inception on July 4, 1944, the Silver Spurs Rodeo has woven itself into the very fabric of Osceola County’s identity. Born amidst the rugged landscape of Florida’s ranches, the rodeo stands as a testament to the resilience and camaraderie of its people. From its humble beginnings, it has grown into an iconic event, symbolizing the enduring spirit of the Sunshine State.
Beyond the thrill of dirt-pounding action, the Silver Spurs Riding Club has remained steadfast in its commitment to giving back to the community. With nearly $100,000 donated to non-profits since 2020 alone, the rodeo serves as a beacon of generosity and goodwill.
This summer, fans will be treated to two evenings of adrenaline-fueled excitement at the Silver Spurs Arena. From bull riding to barrel racing, the rodeo showcases seven traditional events that capture the essence of the American West. But it’s not just about the seasoned pros—unique to the June performances, youth riders will take center stage with junior barrel racing, junior bull riding, and the Junior Silver Spurs Quadrille, where teenagers will dazzle the crowd with a square dance on horseback.
“The Silver Spurs Rodeo will be celebrating 80 years this July, and it’s all thanks to our volunteers, fans, and the whole community,” says Sara Berlinsky, Big Boss of the Silver Spurs Riding Club. “This 80th anniversary is all about celebrating them. We’re pulling out all the stops to make the events this year unforgettable.”
In keeping with their tradition of community support, the Silver Spurs Riding Club will donate to the Boy & Girls Club of St. Cloud and Safety First PediAquatics during the 153rd Silver Spurs Rodeo.
For veterans and active service members, the Silver Spurs Rodeo offers a special tribute, with vouchers for a free hotdog or hamburger and a drink as a token of appreciation for their sacrifice.
Join us on May 31 and June 1 at 7:30 p.m. for a rodeo experience unlike any other. From the thunder of hooves to the cheers of the crowd, the 153rd Silver Spurs Rodeo promises an unforgettable journey into the heart of the American West.
