On Nov. 12, the Children’s Home Society of Florida presented its highest honor at a donor appreciation event at the Winter Park Farmer’s Market. CFL Pizza was presented with the 2015 R. David and I. Lorraine Thomas Child Advocate of the Year award for its contributions.
“An advocate for children throughout Central Florida, the company has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to helping improve the lives of struggling and vulnerable children, and we’re grateful for their continued partnership,” Tara Hormell, executive director of Children’s Home Society of Florida, says.
CFL Pizza has raised more than $325,000 for the organization over the past five years through in-store fundraising campaigns and helped secure an international grant for $20,000 to support The Faine House. In addition to annual donations, CFL Pizza employees have been avid volunteers with the Osceola Visitation Center, The Faine House, the Perinatal Program, Early Head Start, and back-to-school and holiday donation drives.
Chief People Officer of CFL Pizza, Jane Stewart, says, “Together, with the caring team at Children’s Home Society of Florida, we are proud of the difference we are making in communities throughout Central Florida.”
