Celebrate Dry January With City Works: Sip, Sip, Hooray

Each January, after the holiday season rush has ended, some gear up to participate in Dry January, where participants abstain from alcohol for the entire month. Whether for health reasons, financial savings, or even bragging rights, people continue to partake in this month of sobriety each year.

Hesitant to Participate in Dry January?

Those on the fence may hesitate to participate due to societal pressures associated with a night out, but there is a solution: mocktails. You don’t need to drink alcohol to have a good time, and mocktails are a great way to look the part while staying sober. City Works Eatery & Pour House in Disney Springs offers creative mocktails to keep those dinners and late nights exciting.

The perfect mocktail consists of three key elements: a carbonated component (like sparkling water or soda), something juicy (like fruit puree or freshly squeezed juice) and an herbal touch (like mint). With this trifecta, you can’t go wrong. Our Mellow Mule is a perfect combination, featuring ginger beer, mango syrup, cucumber and lime juice.

How to Make the Mellow Mule:

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add 3 slices of cucumber, 1oz honey syrup, 1.5oz mango syrup, and 1.5oz lime juice
  2. Shake vigorously
  3. Strain into a glass filled with ice
  4. Top with ginger beer
  5. Garnish with cucumber wheel

Delicious Mocktails for Dry January

If the Mellow Mule isn’t your style, visit us in Disney Springs and try our two other delicious mocktails: the Strawberry Soothe (strawberries, lime juice, lemon juice, simple syrup, splash of lemon-lime soda) and the Peaceful Paloma (lime juice, grapefruit juice, honey syrup, soda water, salt rim). You can also try our featured mocktail, only available in January, or our non-alcoholic beers, the Upside Dawn Golden and Run Wild IPA.

With plenty of options, we hope to see Dry January participants celebrating with us at City Works. Cheers to you!
