1. 20th Annual MLK, Jr. Leadership Forum (January 11)
Held at the Florida A&M University of College Law, this forum, presented by the Orlando Alumni Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, engages the community in discussions about education equity, reflecting this year’s theme, “Advancing the Dream: Navigating Education Equity in Today’s Landscape.”
2. 37th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Luncheon (January 12)
This prestigious event recognizes individuals and organizations contributing to scholastic achievement and social justice. Keynote speaker Dr. Gerald Jones will address attendees at First Baptist Orlando.
3. 40th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Downtown Orlando Parade (January 13)
A vibrant and culturally rich parade featuring dance, music, and artistic expressions, centered around the theme “It Starts with Me – Shifting the Cultural Climate Through the Study and Practice of Kingian Nonviolence.”
4. City of Kissimmee MLK Celebration (January 13)
Celebrate diversity, unity, and community at the City of Kissimmee’s Martin Luther King Jr Unity Celebration! This energetic festival features live performances from Gospel, R&B, and Soul artists, food trucks, craft vendors, and the KUA Kids Power Zone.
5. Arthur “Pappy” Kennedy 33rd Annual Prayer Breakfast (January 15)
A breakfast commemorating civil rights pioneers at First Baptist Orlando, with Congresswoman Val Demings as the guest speaker.
6. 2024 Seedlings for Civil Rights (January 15)
Seedlings for Civil Rights is an initiative by the City of Orlando’s Green Up to beautify the Lake Mann Homes neighborhood, promoting community service and environmental stewardship.
7. Great Day of Service (January 15)
Join the effort to pack and distribute 1 million meals in collaboration with U.S. Hunger, a testament to Dr. King’s spirit of community service.
8. MLK Night at the Orlando Magic (January 19)
