The Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association commemorated the 19th anniversary of the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001 at its annual Patriot Day Remembrance. Due to COVID-19, the event was held at Orlando World Center Marriott with a limited number of attendees and was broadcast on Orange TV and via social media channels.
The event featured guest emcee Jim Payne, WESH 2 News anchor, and keynote speaker, Mike Cortes, former FDNY and Sept. 11, 2001 first responder. In addition, CFHLA honored the following Central Florida first responders:
