Chamber Recognizes Local Charities

There are countless nonprofit organizations in our community and many go unnoticed. Usually individuals or companies with a passion to address a need or an issue create these organizations. Several of these charities have limited budgets and manpower, which hinders efforts. The East Orlando Chamber of Commerce attempts to be a resource for some of these nonprofits so they can get connected and gain more assistance.

Each year, the chamber selects 10 local charities that are either located or serve East Orange County and invites them to attend our Local Charities Luncheon. This year, we are featuring Central Florida Children’s Home, Central Florida Community Arts, Conductive Education Center of Orlando, Debbie Turner Cancer Care & Resource Center, Early Learning Coalition of Orange County, Epilepsy Association of Central Florida, Gift of Swimming, Noah’s Light Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Lake Nona and Zebra Coalition. These organizations will have a display table at the luncheon, a feature page in the event program and will be promoted on the chamber’s website and newsletters.

I invite you to attend this luncheon to meet representatives from these charities and to hear from our guest speaker Mark Brewer, president and CEO of the Central Florida Foundation. If you are interested in registering for the event or want to learn more about these charitable organizations, please visit www.EOCC.org. If you have a favorite charity you’d like to have considered for next year’s event, email the contact information to events@eocc.org. I hope you will follow the chamber’s lead to support those in need during this season of giving.
