Chamber Resolutions

January is a month of reflection and resolution. This month, the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce celebrates all it accomplished in 2016 and transitions into a new year.

There are many ways to measure the last 12 months. The Winter Park Chamber welcomed 166 new members to our vibrant business community, including several at the new Lakeside Crossing on 17-92 and along Orange Avenue as redevelopment continues in that corridor.

In 2016, the chamber re-evaluated many of its programs and hosted new networking opportunities, including the Meet the Board Reception and Business Showcase & Member Mixer. It also launched two new programs, The Hot Seat, featuring in-depth conversations with local executives, and Chamber Connect, an intentional networking lunch. Both programs received rave reviews.

As for resolutions, much of 2016 was spent on updating the chamber’s strategic plan. As the plan is implemented in 2017, the chamber will chart a new course with Betsy Gardner Eckbert as President/CEO.

I hope one of your resolutions is to support your local business community. Shopping, dining and doing business with local companies and organizations strengthens the local economy and helps the community thrive. For a directory of local businesses, visit winterpark.org or call 407-644-8281.
