Lift Your Spirits: Charities That Spread Joy and Help Others

It’s always good to stay alert to what is going on in your community and give back to any charities. While it is expected to have exciting spring plans and devote some time to yourself, working towards bringing awareness to a cause is an effective use of your time that helps better the community.

Several events in Central Florida will have you committing your time to help shine a light on topics ranging from child abuse to accessibility.

Embrace Families

Embrace Families is a nonprofit which oversees child welfare in Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties. On March 25, the agency is teaming up with Adventhealth and Track Shack for the 46th annual Winter Park Road Race 10k and 2-mile event.

Funds raised by the event will be used to support programs in Central Florida that help families overcome the causes of abandonment, abuse, and neglect. This will help prevent issues before they have a chance to occur.

Embrace Families also brings light to the MANicure Movement, a grassroots effort recognizing that child abuse is preventable. Support can be shown by participating in the run, painting a fingernail blue, or donating to the cause.
