Dr. Phillips High School Hosts Rotary Members

Dr. Suzanne Knight, principal at Dr. Phillips High School (DPHS), recently hosted members of the Rotary Club of Dr. Phillips during national education week and in conjunction with Teach-In 2015. The group was invited to a weekly breakfast meeting, where Knight spoke about the school’s renovation as well as the year’s athletic and academic success. She then invited each member to be a guest speaker for the day at the Teach-In.

While the Rotary Club was at DPHS, President RuthAnn DiLauri presented several awards to the school’s art contest winners. Kevin Mila won first place and a $300 prize, Valeria Herrera won second place and a $200 prize, and Sarah Pender won third place and a $100 prize. Runner-up awards were presented to Trent Doyle, Talayia Snell and Angelo Silcchia. Each runner-up was given a $25 prize for their efforts.
