Parents have so many responsibilities when it comes to raising kids. One of the most critical is protecting them from harm. Of course, the fact is, no matter how hard you try, you cannot always be there. Your children will regularly be faced with moments where they will have to make decisions that could have potentially life-changing consequences. At Child Rescue Network, we educate families to empower children with the knowledge and skill sets to help them make the best decisions possible.
Child Rescue Network provides safety programs like our ͞Empowerment, Not Fear͟ seminars that teach parents about the true realities that exist, along with specific actions kids can take when they find themselves in potentially dangerous situations. The program shows how to establish and maintain open lines of communication within the family, how to build confidence in your kids and how to teach children about personal boundaries. Knowledge truly is power, and when it comes to protecting kids from sexual abuse, abduction and victimization, such as human trafficking, knowledge can make all the difference.
It can be a scary world, but creating unnecessary fear such as ͞stranger danger͟ to protect kids is not the solution. The simple fact that 93 percent of victimized children personally know their abuser means this message must be changed. Predators use even a slight personal connection to assure children they aren’t a stranger and thus should be trusted. They will test the boundaries to see just how far they can go. A child who is confident and recognizes the signs can actually stop many child molesters in their tracks. Empowerment, not fear, is the answer.
Child Rescue Network provides our safety programs to PTAs and other parenting groups, churches, and more. All are provided free of charge thanks to our corporate sponsors and private donors.
