An Eventful October in Winter Park

Fall brings a certain excitement to Winter Park as the weather turns cooler. The downtown business district is bustling with several wonderful events that celebrate the unique characteristics of our city.
A great Chamber of Commerce tradition continues as the 41st Annual Winter Park Autumn Art Festival moves into beautiful Central Park. Join us October 11-12, as Florida Distributing Company and Subaru present 150 top Florida artists showcasing the best in painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, ceramics, drawing and graphics, fiber and fine crafts. The weekend includes live entertainment on the Central Park stage, the Florida Distributing Beer Garden where patrons can taste seasonal craft beers, and a children’s activities tent where Crealdé School of Art will host free art projects for the kids. Entertainment schedule, participating artists and additional information can be found at www.autumnartfestival.org.
Celebrate Winter Park’s vibrant fashion and design community during Park Avenue Fashion Week presented by Harriett Lake, beginning October 25. Enjoy seven days filled with trunk shows, designer meet-and-greets and VIP parties. The event, which is hosted by the Park Avenue Merchants Association and supports the Foundation for Foster Children, culminates on Saturday, November 1 under the tent in Central Park’s West Meadow. This spectacular runway show is Winter Park’s interpretation of New York’s famed Fashion Week in Bryant Park. Participating boutiques, an events calendar and runway show tickets can be found at www.parkavenuefashionweek.com.
If that isn’t enough to fill your calendar, then make plans to attend Cows ‘n Cabs on Saturday, October 25. This charity-focused, food-and-wine event held in Central Park’s West Meadow features food, wine, craft beer, music and cigars. Event details can be found at www.cowsncabs.com.
