For The Love of Nude-A-Palooza at Cypress Cove

Cypress Cove

Family owned and operated since 1964, Cypress Cove is described as the favorite destination of nudists and naturists around the world. The nearly 300-acre facility includes a 50-acre lake, 130 acres of protected wetlands, 20 acres of recreation and even a residential community. Accommodations include 84 villa hotel rooms and apartments, and a modern campground / RV park.

Dan Whicker, Director of Sales & Marketing says it is important that people understand Cypress Cove is a family-oriented place.

“We do our very best to keep the place safe for families,” Whicker says. “We get people here from all over the world, a lot of families. They need to know they’re coming to a safe place where there’s nothing weird going on and that’s what we promote.”

Whicker explains that part of keeping Cypress Cove safe includes keeping strict rules, running ids through the National Sex Offender’s Database and more to make sure the people entering the gates are the right fit.

Nude-A-Palooza

The rules will be no different on Oct.22 as Cypress Cove hosts its Annual Nude-A-Palooza Charity Benefit Tribute Band Concert! Activities Director Regis Pearch says Cypress Cove brings such a diverse crowd of people, so the challenge is ensuring the activities are just as diverse. And that is how Nude-A-Palooza first came to be in 2008. There was an effort to gather different groups of people to enjoy different bands.

“It’s a good way for us to show people what Cypress Cove is all about and give them an experience that is unlike any other experience,” Pearch says.

In years past, Nude-A-Palooza events have featured tributes to Journey, Donna Summer, Huey Lewis, Beyoncé, and Aerosmith just to name a few. This year’s lineup includes tributes to Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers, Joan Jett, George Strait, Jimmy Buffett and Green Day.

Gates open at 11:30 am and the concert starts at Noon. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Chairs or towels are encouraged for general admission sitting and clothing is optional. In addition to the all-day concert, you have access to all resort amenities. So, get ready to dance, relax and enjoy the music!

Welcoming Newcomers

It is important to note that clothing is optional. However, this year’s marketing efforts include reaching out to newcomers and encouraging them to embrace nudity at Nude-A-Palooza.

“In our advertising we’re daring people,” Whicker says. “The key phrase is ‘how far would you go to fight breast cancer?’ It’s kind of a dare to say, ‘if this is something you’ve ever considered, your ticket price is going to a great cause.’”

Tickets are now on sale; six bands for $45 per person. Prices are set to increase on Oct.1. Combo tickets which include tent camping for the weekend are also available for only $70 per person. All proceeds will go to the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation.

To date, Cypress Cove has raised over $389,000 for breast cancer charities. Learn more by visiting cypresscoveresort.com. First-time visitors are also encouraged to view the First-Time Visitors webpage at https://www.cypresscoveresort.com/first-time/
