Orlando Health marked the official opening of its latest emergency care facility on Tuesday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new Waterford Lakes Emergency Room. Located in the heart of East Orange County, the new ER is designed to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community by providing fast, expert medical care close to home.
“Emergencies can’t wait, and Orlando Health ERs are ready. Don’t delay your care — we’re here when you need us,” Orlando Health’s website reads.
The Orlando Health Emergency Room – Waterford Lakes, a service of Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center, is a freestanding, one-story emergency facility staffed by board-certified emergency physicians and a highly trained clinical team. The ER is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, offering care for patients of all ages — from infants and children to teens and adults.
Equipped with 10 private patient rooms, the new emergency room is built to deliver advanced medical services in a convenient setting. Patients will have access to a full-service laboratory, diagnostic imaging services including X-ray, CT scans, and ultrasound, as well as respiratory therapy and cardiac monitoring.
In cases where more complex or specialized treatment is needed, the facility is supported by Orlando Health’s regional hospital network. Ambulance bays at the ER ensure swift ground transportation to any Orlando Health specialty hospital, including Central Florida’s only Level One Trauma Center at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center, or Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children for pediatric trauma care.
The opening of the Waterford Lakes ER reflects Orlando Health’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to high-quality, emergency medical care throughout Central Florida. As the population in East Orange County continues to grow, the new facility aims to reduce wait times and bring peace of mind to families in need of immediate medical attention.
