Seaworld Scholars

This summer, SeaWorld Orlando awarded $1,000 scholarships to 13 local students who have a passion for environmental protection and preservation. The students can use these scholarships at any college or university they plan to attend as part of the company’s Environmental Scholarship Program.
Only high school seniors in Orange County Public Schools with a 3.0 GPA or higher were eligible for this scholarship opportunity. The winning students demonstrated their passion for wildlife and the environment with a written application and a short video showing their environmental goals and achievements. Entries included recycling education programs, ideas for new forms of sustainable energy, and sustainability plans for communities.
Representatives from SeaWorld’s Education and Conservation Department evaluated each student’s application on originality, creativity, content, organization and overall neatness and presentation of the application.
The winning students received their scholarships at an award ceremony held at SeaWorld Orlando. They were then invited, along with their family members, to spend the remainder the day at the park. They were also gifted with four annual passes to SeaWorld Orlando and a brand new tablet for their achievements.
