America’s first fast-food hamburger chain, White Castle, broke ground on its “Clermont Castle” Wednesday off SR 50 and Plaza Collina Blvd.

The 3,220 square-foot Castle will be the second freestanding Central Florida location and will feature indoor and outdoor seating, two drive-through lanes and a “modern industrial flair” on the signature tower design.

The new restaurant is scheduled to be completed in late Summer 2025, according to a press release, and will create 75 new jobs.

“The Clermont Castle represents our continued love of Central Florida as a great place to be,” Jamie T. Richardson, White Castle Vice President said in a press release. “It is part of our devotion to the citizens of the area, which includes a future location in Kissimmee’s Old Town Entertainment District.”

White Castle leaders as well as elected officials, development partners and brand ambassadors scooped up dirt with spatula-shaped shovels during the ceremony.

“Exciting times are ahead as we welcome the new White Castle to Clermont. We wish them great success and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our community. Welcome to Clermont,” Mayor Tim Murry said.

The new Castle is building on the success of the Orlando location, the world’s largest freestanding White Castle, which opened in 2021 and has consistently been a top performer.

“This new Clermont Castle is our way of saying thank you—and continuing to satisfy the crave with hot, tasty, and memorable moments,” Richardson said.
