The Falcon 9 rocket, owned by SpaceX, recently lifted off from Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Complex 39A, carrying more than 20 Starlink satellites. The launch window was initially scheduled for 11 a.m. ET but experienced delays, pushing it back to 1:34 p.m. ET and then to 2:10 p.m. ET. Unfortunately, no specific reasons were provided for the delays.

Despite the delays, the 45th Weather Squadron gave a favorable 90% chance of good liftoff conditions. The only concern was related to the cumulus cloud rule.

Interestingly, this might not be the only launch for SpaceX today. The company plans to launch the Starlink 8-2 mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California later this evening.

Key Details:

  • Rocket Booster: The Falcon 9’s first-stage booster for this mission is B1083, which has only been used in two previous launches.
  • Upcoming Launch: In addition to this mission, SpaceX is preparing for the Crew-8 launch and the Starlink 6-48 mission.
  • Landing: After stage separation, the first-stage rocket will attempt to land on the droneship “A Shortfall of Gravitas” located in the Atlantic Ocean.

Stay tuned for more updates as SpaceX continues its ambitious space exploration endeavors!
