What could possibly better than UCF football?
How about UCF football with a little bang in your ying yang?
That’s right Knight fans, College GameDay is comin’ to your city.
What has become a somewhat tumultuous relationship in recent months between the show and the school, will culminate with ESPN’s flagship college football pregame show filming live from UCF’s campus this Saturday, as the Knights prepare for their biggest game of the season vs. the #19 Cincinnati Bearcats.
On a weekend with an extremely light slate of games, Cincinnati-UCF will be one of only three games featuring two AP Top 25 opponents. Orlando edged out #13 Syracuse vs. #3 Notre Dame, a game that will be played in Yankee Stadium.
Ah, the perks the nation’s current longest winning streak, coupled with the nation’s loudest cry for change, will yield.
“This fan base has been waiting for College GameDay for the last two years. To recognize their program and to bring College GameDay to Orlando. And this, is the week that it happens.” ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit said. “Get all your signs ready, everyone get fired up. It’s going to be a great celebration for not only UCF, but for Cincinnati and the conference in general.”
Although it’s Herbstreit himself who has drawn the most ire from Knights fans, his initial message says it all.
This is a celebration. It’s a testament to the hard work put in by the players, the coaching staff, and the men and women of the athletic department, led by Athletic Director, Danny White.
It’s an opportunity for fans to ultimately enjoy one of the highest forms of recognition the sport has.
GameDay will begin at 9AM, a full 11-hours prior to the 8PM kickoff that will air in prime time on ABC. So if you like a little zing in your zang zang, pace yourselves. You’ll want to come along.
