Frost Adds to the Family

UCF Head Coach Scott Frost and his wife, Ashley, welcomed their first born son on Wednesday

It’s hard to imagine this dream season going any better for Scott Frost and his UCF Knights football team. Somewhere among the unblemished record (8-0), the highest scoring average in the nation (48.5 points per game), and the #18 ranking in the latest College Football Playoff standings, the 42-year old head man has also found time to become one of the nation’s hottest coaching commodities and, as of Wednesday morning at approximately 12:15AM, a father.

Scott Frost officially announced on Thursday that he and his wife Ashley welcomed their first born son early Wednesday morning, timing that was nearly as perfect as the season in progress for the Knights. Over the last month, contingency plans were in place to assure Frost would be at the hospital in time for the birth of his son regardless of the circumstances surrounding the football team. At their most recent game near Dallas, Texas against SMU, a UCF booster had a private jet on stand by while Frost coached from the sideline with a cell phone in his pocket ready to return to Central Florida at any moment.

“That’s my job, is to go with them. I was going to be with them no matter what unless the call came. The call didn’t come.” Frost said. As of Thursday morning, Frost and his wife were still without a name for their son.

“We’re working on that. We kind of wanted to wait to meet him until we named him, so he’ll have a name today.” Frost added.

If we’ve learned anything about Coach Frost and the way he operates during his tenure at UCF, I’m sure he and his wife will pick the perfect name, at the perfect time.
