Apple Reportedly Enhancing Health App with AI Doctor

Apple is reportedly working on a major update to its Health app that will incorporate an AI-driven coaching feature designed to help users improve their overall well-being. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this new development is progressing and could be introduced as part of iOS 19.4, expected in the spring or summer of 2026.

AI Coach for Personalized Health Guidance

The AI-powered coach aims to provide personalized health and wellness advice by analyzing data from various medical devices used by an individual. A key component of this initiative is food tracking, a feature Apple has historically been hesitant to integrate, according to Bloomberg’s report. The move could place Apple in direct competition with established health and wellness platforms such as MyFitnessPal and Noom.

Expert-Led Health Insights

Apple is currently training the AI system using data collected from its in-house physicians and is actively seeking to collaborate with external medical professionals. Experts in fields like sleep science, nutrition, physical therapy, mental health, and cardiology may contribute by creating informative videos to help users better understand health conditions and lifestyle improvements.

A More Comprehensive Health App

The upgraded Health app is expected to aggregate data from multiple health devices, allowing the AI coach to deliver tailored recommendations based on real-time metrics. This advancement aligns with Apple’s broader strategy of expanding its footprint in the health technology sector.

Introducing ‘Health+’

As per Gurman’s report, this enhanced health service is tentatively being referred to as Health+. While details are still emerging, the integration of AI coaching and food tracking represents a significant evolution for Apple’s health-focused initiatives.

With Apple’s continued investment in AI and healthcare, the potential launch of this new feature underscores the company’s commitment to leveraging technology for personalized health management.
