Winter Park’s very own Marc and Sharon Hagle are preparing to board Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket for the second time, embarking on another thrilling journey to the edge of space. After making history as the first married couple to launch a commercial space vehicle in Main March 2022, the couple is set to soar once again—this time aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard on the NS-28 mission.
The Hagles first ventured into space during Blue Origin’s fourth human flight, taking them to the Kármán Line. Their upcoming trip, set for Friday, November 22, will mark the ninth human flight of New Shepard and the 28th overall for the program. Launching from Blue Origin’s Launch Site One in Van Horn, Texas, the countdown to liftoff will begin at 10:30 a.m. ET.
The Hagles won’t be flying solo. They’ll be joined by a fascinating crew of fellow space enthusiasts: Emmy-nominated TV host Emily Calandrelli, financial pro Austin Litteral, entrepreneur James “J.D.” Russell, and Bayshore Capital CEO Henry “Hank” Wolfond. Together, they’ll experience the thrill of weightlessness and the awe-inspiring view of Earth from space.
The Hagles are no strangers to making headlines. Recently, they also made waves with OceanGate, having filed and later dropped a lawsuit against the deep-sea exploration company over fraud allegations. But their true passion lies in exploring the great unknown, and their return to space is just the latest chapter in their adventurous journey.
This launch is another exciting step for the Hagles, who continue to inspire with their fearless spirit and philanthropic hearts. Central Florida is proud to cheer them on as they take flight again, making space travel a little bit closer for us all.
