So you live in Florida. That doesn’t mean every vacation you take has to be to the beach. About an hour and a half from Orlando, Streamsong Resort is a paradise in its own right – for golfers.
This modern resort is far from the bustle of city living, allowing you to truly get away from it all. Drop your bags and your clubs off at The Lodge and make yourself at home. The floor-to-ceiling windows in many of the guestrooms look out onto one of the lakes on property, giving stunning views of the sunset each evening. The property’s clubhouse has 12 guest rooms that accommodate up to 16 guests, making it the perfect spot for a guy’s golf getaway.
When you’re all settled in, you don’t need to leave the property for leisure or for food. With four casual and fine dining restaurants, there is a wealth of options to sate your palate. Restaurant Fifty-Nine at the Clubhouse will curb your cravings for surf and turf while P2O5 features classic Florida cuisine. Sotto Terra serves indulgent appetizers and hearty Italian-inspired entrees. Enjoy light bites at Fragmentary Blue on the Lodge’s top floor before stepping outside to the rooftop terrace to stargaze with a drink in hand.
Golfers make the trip to Streamsong Resort for its unique, intersecting courses that are designed for walking. Setting out on foot allows golfers to truly appreciate the beauty of the surrounding landscape and the special touches from the course architects. However, there are carts available for some tee times during certain times of the year.
The entire resort is built on land that was formerly used for phosphate mining, which gave designers the opportunity to create dramatic elements that would come together to form a challenging 36 holes of golf. Streamsong Blue is a par-72 course known for routing players around the natural features of the terrain. Also a par-72 course, Streamsong Red offers striking landforms, large lakes and rolling terrain.
On Sept. 29, the highly anticipated Streamsong Black, a Par-73 championship course designed by Gil Hanse, will open. Expect breathtaking views with flowing elevation as well as extra opportunities to play at The Gauntlet, a two-acre putting course, and The Roundabout, a free-flowing practice area. Streamsong Black will also introduce its own advanced clubhouse featuring Bone Valley Tavern, a restaurant with panoramic views of this exciting new course.
While many come specifically for the golf experience, Streamsong Resort has a variety of activities that cater to the outdoors, including chartering a guided bass fishing excursion on one of three of the property’s lakes. There are inside activities, too, like a relaxing escape to AcquaPietra. This grotto-style spa provides a full range of treatments, with options exclusively for men that focus on working out all the kinks that can build up from swinging golf clubs and casting fishing reels.
Gather a group of buddies and head out to Streamsong Resort, where you can get away from the busy city life and immerse yourself in the beautiful golf resort.
