Dr. Phillips Charities Launches Kids Day

Last month, Dr. Phillips Charities launched Dr. Phillips Charities Kids Day in the hopes of making it an annual event. Kids Day provided underprivileged youth in Orlando with an opportunity to enjoy a holiday show and a meal at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. More than 300 children from Edgewood Children’s Ranch, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, The YMCA of Central Florida’s Teen Achievers Program, and the Kate & Justin Rose Foundation enjoyed a meal and a viewing of Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical.”

Each organization was offered different show times to fit their schedule. During the meals, which ranged from a pre-show breakfast to dinner on Kessler Tier, Dr. Phillips Charities President Ken Robinson and Director of Grants Wendy Oliver spoke to the students about dreaming big and working hard to make their dreams come true.

Kathy Ramsberger, president and CEO of Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, says, “This program supports our vision of Arts for Every Life, and we’re delighted to provide this opportunity for these children to be impacted by the experience.”
