Seniors First, a leading nonprofit serving older adults in Central Florida, will host its 18th annual High Tea & Hats fundraiser on Saturday, April 27, at the Citrus Club in downtown Orlando. This signature event brings together community members for an elegant afternoon of tea, fashion, and philanthropy—all to support critical services that help local seniors remain independent and maintain their quality of life.
Proceeds from the event directly benefit key Seniors First programs, including Meals on Wheels, Neighborhood Lunch Programs, and In-Home Care Services, which collectively serve thousands of aging adults across the region.
“As we continue to see a growing need among our senior population, High Tea & Hats offers a wonderful opportunity for friends, neighbors and local businesses to come together and make a real difference,” Marsha Lorenz, President and CEO of Seniors First said. “Every seat reserved, and donation made directly help us deliver on our mission of enhancing the quality of life of seniors by maintaining their independence and dignity. Even in our 18th year, we’re reminded of how powerful a caring community can be and that in fact, our whole community benefits when seniors remain living independently in their own homes.”

Guests are encouraged to wear their most stylish hats and enjoy a classic high tea experience complete with curated fare, specialty teas, and interactive fundraising opportunities. The event features a festive hat contest, wine toss, champagne sales, and both live and silent auctions. Participants can take home unique prizes while knowing their contributions support vital senior services in the region.
The need for support has never been greater. In Orange County alone, approximately 1 in 7 seniors experience food insecurity—amounting to an estimated 37,000 individuals. Nearly half of seniors living alone struggle to afford essential expenses. Events like High Tea & Hats spotlight these challenges and emphasize the importance of community-driven solutions.
Seniors First encourages the public to get involved—whether by attending the event, donating, or volunteering to support the organization’s mission of helping older adults age with dignity and independence.
